Last week, I had the privilege of attending the Care Show 2025 in London, an event that continues to set the benchmark for innovation and inspiration in the health and social care sector. As a Nurse Adviser and Director of Independent Living Advisers, I’m always looking for ways to stay informed, inspired, and connected — and this event delivered on all fronts.

A Hub of Innovation in Care

From the moment I arrived, the energy was palpable. The Care Show brought together professionals, service providers, and innovators from across the UK and beyond, all driven by one mission: to improve the lives of those who depend on care and support services.

The exhibition space was buzzing with new ideas — from smart assistive technologies and next-generation mobility aids to enhanced care planning tools and digital health platforms. It was inspiring to see how far we've come in creating more responsive, personalized, and dignified support systems for those in need.

A Powerful Conversation on Dementia

One of the most impactful moments of the show for me was the session led by David Baddiel on dementia. Known for his personal connection to the subject, David’s talk was heartfelt, honest, and deeply thought-provoking. He shared his experiences with clarity and emotion, helping attendees gain a better understanding of the emotional and practical realities faced by people living with dementia and their families.

It was a powerful reminder that alongside all the innovation and technology, human empathy remains at the heart of care.

Reconnecting with the Care Community

The show also provided a wonderful opportunity to reconnect — with old friends, long-time colleagues, and inspiring new professionals entering the field. These conversations reminded me just how passionate and resilient our care community truly is. Every individual I met shared a commitment to driving positive change and making a real difference in people’s lives.

Looking Ahead with Purpose

As I reflect on the Care Show 2025, I leave with a renewed sense of purpose. The challenges in health and social care are many, but so are the opportunities. With continued collaboration, compassion, and innovation, we can ensure that individuals retain their independence, dignity, and quality of life — no matter their circumstances.

Thank you to the event organizers, speakers, and exhibitors who made this year’s show such a success. I’m already looking forward to next year’s event!
