Independent Living Advisers was founded with a simple belief: people should be supported to live independently, safely and confidently in their own homes for as long as possible.
We understand that navigating later life can sometimes feel complicated. Families may be balancing practical concerns, changing support needs and important decisions, often while living some distance away. ila was created to bring reassurance, clarity and continuity to that journey.
By getting to know each individual and understanding what matters to them, we help identify potential difficulties, reduce the risk of a crisis and coordinate the right practical support at the right time.
Meet Cecilia
Cecilia Trueman is the Managing Director of ila | Independent Living Advisers and has been closely involved in supporting people in their homes and communities throughout her career.
With a professional background in general nursing and midwifery, Cecilia has extensive frontline experience, including working in nursing homes and establishing and managing a branch of a local care agency.
Cecilia’s experience has shown her that seemingly small difficulties can quickly affect someone’s confidence and independence. She is skilled at recognising when a person may need a little extra help, listening carefully to what they and their family want, and arranging practical support before problems become more difficult to manage.
Her approach is personal, attentive and compassionate. At the heart of her work is a genuine commitment to helping every ila client feel heard, respected and supported.
